Founded in November 2010 by two Columbia MBA students, datemyschool has grown to become the biggest collegiate dating platform in the United States. It now serves populaces of more than 1,000 schools nationwide, and is the largest dating platform for college students and alumni in the United States. What's your vision?
INTRODUCTION ############ Pandora is an automated music recommendation service and "custodian" of the Music Genome Project. The service plays musical selections similar to song suggestions entered by a user. The user provides positive or negative feedback for songs chosen by the service, which are taken into account for future selections. Pandora has 800,000 tracks from 80,000 artists in its library, and 80 million users We have recently bought advertising on the service. The media we have acquired are display banners on the web and on the iPad. Their specifications are as follows: WEB - 300x250 and 300x600 swf, jpg, png, or gif banner (40K max) iPAD - 300x250 jpg banner; static/non-animated (15K max) DIRECTIVE ######## It needs to grab one's attention. Look around, and see most of the banner ads on the internet. Too much happens. While we don't have to be visually primitive, the copy and the art has to be bold. It needs to grab your attention. And mind you, that begins with being uncluttered. And creative. You can use pictures. Also, it is Pandora. It is about music. It is edgy, cool, and young. Your art and copy direction needs to reflect that. Play around with the website. Feel the landing page. Browse people. Watch our YouTube channel. If it helps that you design or write two different ads for men and women, do so. We can target genders specifically. Also, our website font has been attached. DEALBREAKERS ############ No couples, no hearts, nothing that places us a dating website. We don't want to position ourselves as an EHarmony or a Match.com. Also, no sleaze. Cute over sexy. Love over a casual encounter. Make it warm, fuzzy, like autumn in New York! Worth remembering is that 80% of Americans who have been online have never tried a dating website before. And mostly because they have been simply too scared, or it is too corny. An elegant, clutter-free, and intelligent brand of marketing, we believe, is a crucial element in making people shed their inhibitions, and make online dating just like any other service online. Maybe, even all those things - cool, edgy, brash, and path-breaking - that a service like Pandora is. Also, no clutter. Let it breathe.
