USAmends got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Amendments Without Congress: A Timely Gift from the Founders
Check out USAmends's Book cover contest…
I write books about the U.S. Constitution from a libertarian perspective.
What's your vision?
I intend to sell the book on all the ebook platforms, as well as print. The size would be the standard trade paperback 8.5 x 5.5. As far as the design is concerned, be creative! See below for more details on the book's content. I'm looking for something modern looking. Images or depictions of the US Capital are good, but not essential. Also, this book is a pretty radical concept, so images portraying an uprising might work. Basically, just have fun and let your instincts be your guide!
I included a small pic of me for the back. It's not the best resolution so you can size it down as needed. I may not even use the pic, but would like to see some designs with it. Here's an intro on the book to give you a better idea of what its about: Our Nation’s Founders … had the foresight to anticipate our present circumstances. They knew the federal government they designed could, over time, grow to nightmare proportions — as it has. They knew that the branches of government they formed could evolve into fortified institutions and a political class insulated from the people. The Gift they left us is written into the Constitution itself — a provision whereby the states may propose, and later ratify, Amendments Without Congress. Though never used, the time is ripe for the states to pull rank on a runaway federal government, but there’s a catch! Hardly any of the 7,382 state legislators are aware they have this power. Amendments Without Congress: A Timely Gift from the Founders is written specifically for those legislators and citizens who have the guts to stand up to Congress and demand what the Constitutions calls a Convention for Proposing Amendments. The states must now assert themselves, and this is the manual to show them how!
