Martin is a genius! He's an eclectic creator with an eye for design. He designed my debut romance novel cover and I couldn't be more pleased with the turnout. He's flexible to work with, communicative, respectful and talented. I'd recommend him to other artists, writers and business owners.
How pmortonwk started their book cover journey
Irish trained, Dr. Pol Morton was a rural family physician on the Prairies of Manitoba for thirteen years.
Dr. Finn McDiarmaid is on the brink of a meltdown.
In a small rural practice on the vast plains of Manitoba, Dr. McD’s patients and nurses see him as a caring, happy family doctor. They trust him with their health and that of their children. However, beneath this rapidly eroding veneer is a burned out, desperate cinder of a man. Barely hanging on to his sanity he dreads each new day wondering if it will be the one when he will snap and someone will get seriously hurt.
He is certain that day will come.
Adults. Doctors, doctor's spouses, general public.

What colors do you want to see in your design?
The book is about a rural family physician burning out.
It is set on the Prairies of Manitoba
My idea was a picture of a man on a tightrope. One cannot see the ends of the rope – cannot see what it is attached to. If the picture allows enough detail the man is Caucasian and in his forties but has white hair. He is dressed for office work – dress pants, white shirt and tie, but no jacket.
Impossibly far below is a Prairie vista – flat farmland to the horizon – no hills
The man on the rope has no balance pole. His arms are out as he tries to balance.
Ahead of him is clear weather. Very close behind him is a storm. The impression is that it is just about to catch him. The man is looking over his shoulder fearfully at the storm.
The atmosphere I am hoping for is suspense and danger.
