How Jonathan20031016 started their book cover journey
Who are you known as?
The Blyth Institute
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We do research and education in biology, engineering, and computer science focusing on new avenues of research. This is for a book investigating alternative approaches to scientific and academic discovery and analysis.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We need a cover for the book "Naturalism and Its Alternatives in Scientific Methodologies". The book is the result of a conference we held earlier this year. There is a template for the cover attached.
There is no need to match anything about this cover, but I thought you should see what won the last competition.
I usually am surprised by the design that I like, and I have no creative abilities myself (which is why I am here). Therefore, don't feel too constrained by anything except the template and the title.
Text, unless there is a specific reason not to, should remain as editable text in the final file (please note any deviations from this). Any image used should be available for us to use royalty-free at a reasonable price (any needed payments should be listed, preferably with a link to the stock photo). The spine may increase or decrease slightly in thickness. The design should be able to accommodate for this if needed. The Blyth Institute Press logo should be incorporated into the back cover. The ISBN on the back cover may be moved.
There is a logo (AMNAT) attached that we used in the conference, but there is NO requirement to use the logo in the design. It might be worthwhile to integrate it into the back cover, but that would be the most.
The book should have "Jonathan Bartlett" and "Eric Holloway" as the editors.
