Stevie, Jane and the Special Box
I am a passionate person who has an overactive imagination, an adventurous heart and love of story telling. I would like my books to encourage children to read, to imagine and to see life as an adventure.
This book is a comical adventure story that could happen to any child. It is a chapter book and is part of the Secret Door Series that I have written.
Early readers between 6 and 10. And parents to read to their kids before bedtime.
Book cover type
I am looking for an excellent illustrator to do the front and back cover. Ideally we would like the winning designer to illustrate the full layout in a separate job. I would like a clear strong image on the front cover. The book size will be 5 inches by 8 inches. Creamy inside and a glossy cover. It will be published on Createspace and Ingram Spark as a paperback. I would like two characters on the front (Stevie and Jane). They need to have a mixed race background (not Caucasian). The special box also needs to be featured. Stevie and Jane's adventure is in an old ladies overgrown back garden (apple and orange trees, tall grass and vines). Other info: Stevie is a boy, Jane is a girl with long hair. They are brother and sister. Story is set in summer. Box is small to an adult. Big enough to fit an orange in it. It looks like a boring old ladies box with some carving or very basic ornamentation around the edges but the items inside take them on an adventure. The story takes place on a summers day and the box is not magic but has items in it that take the children on an adventure, for example a map.
What to avoid
Stock imagery definitely not.
