HAVE A GOOD JOB? WHY YOU WILL NEED A CAREER! What Gen X, Y & Z Should Know About College and Other Matters
Roy C Carriker, PhD, MBA
Roy Carriker with a PhD in physics and a Harvard MBA has enjoyed being a scientist, global businessman, strategist, educator and writer. His current research includes how the intersection globalization, the rise of the internet, rapidly advancing technology and changing business practices are disrupting the nature of the workplace, accelerating the financial gap between the “haves” and the “have-nots”, all negatively impacting future wage-earning prospects for much of the US workforce. Published just prior to the global COVID pandemic, “Surviving America’s Financial Abyss – Be the Entrepreneur of Your Own Life”, created awareness of how different earning a living in the future will be and having an entrepreneurial mindset and understanding a few basics of entrepreneurship would help individuals cope with future workforce disruption. This book examines changes since 2019 and why and how higher education is evolving as a viable career path.
This book is for anyone preparing to or earning a living in an increasingly chaotic world of work. A world in which for many, uncertainty regarding a financially comfortable life continues to grow. It’s about things you need to know about the decreasing life spans of jobs and careers due to rapidly advancing technology and global competition. It’s about your first line of defense, your awareness, without which, you may be blindsided. Finally, it’s about you being better prepared and more resilient for future uncertainties.
Students in or entering university to prepare for a career and all people in the workforce who still have years to work. People giving career advice.
