I cannot speak highly enough of my fantastic experience with AfaheemDesignStudio. My contest to design a book cover for my new book was intense. Many designers entered the fray and they did a great job, but somehow AfaheemDesignStudio captured the essence and energy of the content of my book. That is very difficult to do when you have not actually read the book, so it came down to effective communication between the designer and me. It was a great job and I'm very happy with the end product.
Easy to work with. Even though I went back and forth a bit he didn't hesitate to fix it. And the final product looks nothing but awesome. Guess we are going to sell millions of records now ;)

What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
I would like a book cover designed please, comprising front, spine and back - the full wrap. The book is entitled, 'If Life's Worth Doing It's Worth Doing Well' and Sub-titled '- Finding Sane Fulfillment in an Insane World' by Tony Inman. The book is designed to be inspirational and motivational and is about making the most of your life, using lessons learned from my life story, plus coaching and teachings drawn from many sources. As I do a lot of activities and have built many businesses, I thought the cover could be a montage of photos, depicting the many areas of my life e.g. scuba diving, flying, playing guitar, lecturing, travelling to amazing places. How that montage fits all or part of the page is flexible as long as you can clearly read the title and my name. The images can be sorted as you see fit according to colour contrasts, relevance and your expertise. Any background space could perhaps be sky blue, depicting light, optimism and energy. The back cover I think should be a plain page in navy or midnight blue to create a professional feel to contrast with the fun feel of the cover. I'd like a space left for the barcode on the back and we'd like to include the publisher's icons on spine and back page as per the example image. The font must be legible but could be an artistic or fun style to suit the title. A suggestion for the spine is that the text be in yellow and please that it faces LtoR TtoB so that you can read it when the book is face up on the table. On the back page there is a portrait photo, book spiel and a two line author intro.
My publisher is Emily Gowor of Gowor International Publishing. The book will be in paperback and E-book and I think will be 6" x 9" sized. No cartoons please. The images I've sent are the best I have available. Most are original digital and can be cropped to suit. Some are i-phone or scanned pics, which may not have enough resolution - your call. A link will be provided to contestants to access a dropbox folder with more images.
