automate or be automated
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are an IT consultancy based around helping large corporates (banks, telcos, government, etc) do their IT better, cheaper and faster while providing the a first class service to our customers. Our name comes from the Puppet (puppet.com) programming language that we use. The idea is that our customers decide on the outcome they want to achieve and Declarative Systems will figure out how to get them there -- "make it so". We do this by writing code for existing tools and, when needed, making new ones to make everyones life simpler. Our motto is "automate or be automated" because we automate the little niggles that our competitors leave for their customers to do! Eg, instead of making customers or consultants follow pages of instructions to set stuff up, we will often write a new program that does everything required in a single command

In my mind I've got a retro colour-scheme in mind for this based around the old green-screen text terminals people used years ago, so greens and whites against a dark background. I'm wanting to use the logo in avatars on social media and code-sharing sites like atlassian marketplace, puppetforge, etc where logos can be really small (54x54) so a simple design that's still recognisable when scaled down would be good. While the colour scheme sounds ancient, what we do is bleeding edge so I don't want something that's too stuck in the past so feel free to take the past and modernize it. As a company, we aim to take our customers from the way they've always done things to the cutting edge - without terrifying them
