evanv1 got their new brochure by running a design contest:
Design a Brochure for Personal Injury Law Firm
Check out evanv1's Brochure contest…
Victims or family members hurt in an accident. People who might need help from a personal injury attorney.
We want to use the same colors as the website. www.jouraslaw.com The brochure is being sent to people who have been hurt in an accident. Sometimes, those people have lost someone very close to them like a child, husband or wife. Other times, they've been injured in a car accident and need to know if they should hire a lawyer. The design needs to make people feel interested, comfortable and hopeful. It should help build trust.
What to avoid
We don’t want to use stock photography of the typical lawyer. No gavels, lady of justice, balanced weights, columns on buildings. Avoid shaking hands, people around computers when you can’t see their faces. Avoid lawyers in ties, people in ties. Unless it’s one of the two images we uploaded. No people signing papers, etc. Some icons for the practice areas are okay. If we use stock images, we’ll use images of “real” looking people with faces who are loving, caring, kind. Or families helping each other or holding each other. Maybe even a husband and wife or wife and kids looking at a computer in their home…. Looking for help. We’d like to focus more on the visual style of the brief where it says, “...Sometimes, those people have lost someone very close to them” and we need it to “make people feel interested, comfortable and hopeful. It should help build trust.”

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
evanv1 collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.

And then… they selected a winner!
We got exactly what we wanted as a logo and website. Shanku worked very hard on meeting my expectations and was constantly in touch with me. I would be very happy to use him again.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
