What's your vision?
REVISED Sunday 9th Oct (Sydney time): --------------------------------------------------------- The icon is for an automation plugin for Microsoft's "Lync" client. The icon is to be inspired by the Microsoft Lync icon, as per this Wiki article, but of course not so close as to excite Microsoft’s legal people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Microsoft_Lync_2010_client_-_icon.PNG High-level design tips: • The background should be a similar colour to the official logo • The L should be as close to the original as you can get away with. • The top (left) serif should be squared off as per the original • We shouldn’t use the oval presence ‘jellybean’ from the original (I expect that would get us in trouble) • The numbers 1,2,3 in the mockup should be coloured the SAME, in either in bright lime, red, or yellow (not orange) – whatever works best • I think the numbers look best on the 'inside' of the L and not to the left of the upright as previously requested. The icon file needs to be in the usual standard formats as described in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa511280.aspx and with colour depth of 4 and 8 bits. Lots of the designs have small detail that's invisible. This icon will be at its LARGEST in the PC's task-bar and start menu, and from there it's only going to get smaller (e.g .when in the tray), or lose resolution (as in RDP Sessions, with 4bit colour). Please don't use colour or effects that result in a loss of clarity at this size. Many of the designs look great blown up in the site's preview box, but are a blurry mess at small size.
