Working with LAABS was a very refreshing experience! His artistic intuition gave a physical form to my vision. His work ethic is equally impressive. He always responds in a timely fashion, working out all the details till his final product is exquisite. No wonder he won so many awards!!!
Kim was great to work with! Kim submitted some awesome designs and was happy to do any changes we requested. Would love to work with Kim again in the future.
How SWARMSWARM started their icon or button journey

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We develop mobile technology for SWAT teams and police departments worldwide.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We need an app icon (to be used for both iOS and Android versions) for our app "SWARM." The name comes from the idea that SWAT team members swarm around a location when they respond.
The app will be used by hostage negotiators and SWAT teams during hostage and active shooter situations. It is not for the general public. It's for the brave men and women responding to situations like the recent Boston Marathon bombings.
The icon should incorporate a bee, or a swarm of bees, and should feel more "badass" or professional than cute. Perform a Google Images search on "swat logos" (without quotes) for inspiration on various department SWAT logos that are often designed by the teams themselves.
Ideas for other design elements that could be incorporated are: police badge, honeycomb pattern, the concept of "surrounding" something. You're free to be creative - these are simply ideas.
The app icon should look excellent and not lose its features when placed on either a white or black background. The word "SWARM" should not be in the app icon itself.
High-resolution icon with PSD will be provided by the winner.
