REQUIRED: multi-purpose graphic for use both online and in print (merchandise).

Specs:

• Size: 1000 x 1000 px.
• Delivery: 1 x 300dpi .eps file (CMYK). 1 x 72dpi .png file, full transparency.
• Variants: please provide both colour and monochrome versions.
• Colour: ideally, limit colour version to 7 unique colours.

Overview:

• Audience: developers (eg website developers, app developers) – highly technically competent. Employed by Australia Post.
• Aim: to promote the idea of application security (eg writing secure code) to developers at Australia Post.
• Tone: fun, quirky, memorable.
• Styles: hand illustration/cartoon preferred.
• Limitations: the product cannot specifically mention Australia Post or use its branding. However, design elements referencing the idea of post, letters, etc are welcome.
• Preferences: don’t use “hacker green”. Steer clear of excessive use of red or green.

Details:

We are looking to create a cute, quirky graphic for use on merchandise to be given out to developers working at Australia Post. The aim of this merchandise will be to raise awareness of application security issues – for example, when they look at their free gifted water bottle which has the design on, we want them to think “oh yes, I need to do x y z to keep my code secure!” Or “hey, I had a question about this. Let’s chat to the application security team”.

In essence, application security is the process of ensuring that all applications (such as websites and digital products) remain secure – or that they can only be used for their intended purpose. We are not hackers.

Developers at Australia Post are an incredibly diverse group, spanning many ages, genders and ethnicities. If you plan to use imagery including a person or people, please keep this in mind.

Ideas:

- A developer or group of developers looking at their computer(s) and thinking about security. Thought bubble with “appsec is great!” in it, some stickers that look like letters stuck to the computer.
- A developer or group of developers sitting at their computers and dressed as security guards. Smiling faces. The words “get secure” (or similar) above them. Happy tone – not scary security guards! ;)

We’re open to far more than this – these are just to get your thoughts going!
