This project is broken into two phases. This competition pertains only to Phase 1. The second phase will be launched subsequent to determining a winner of this Phase 1 competition.
Phase 1: The purpose of Phase 1 is to select an illustrator to implement second phase. We are looking for an illustrator which is able to artistically develop the component pieces of art that can be used by our company to illustrate different ‘use cases’ pertaining to the way individual patients move through the healthcare continuum. For purposes of the Phase 1 competition, we are asking illustrators to prepare three samples of different characters that can be used along the healthcare journey experienced by a patient, as well as illustrate a ‘set’ upon which those characters can act out the use case. Finalists will be selected based upon designing a great ‘set’ for these use cases to play out on, their aesthetic approach, and their ability to take on the larger exercise in Phase 2.
Phase 2: The second phase of the project will involve working with the winning illustrate to develop out:
(i) A full ‘set’ upon which the use cases play out (including for example a grassy lawn, a sky, a skyline, etc.);
(ii) A cast of ‘characters’ (ranging from 20 to 25 individual characters which are distinct… e.g., a character for a general physician, several variations of patients, a pharmacist, a lab technician, a case manager, an office manager, an executive, a surgeon, a dietician, a transportation specialist, a rehab nurse, and so forth)
(iii) Differentiated buildings representing a hospital, a heathcare insurance company, a rehab center, an urgent care center, etc. (6-8 buildings); and
(iv) Connectors to help illustrate the use cases, e.g., arrows, flags, thought bubbles, etc.
