We are an energy news site with over 3 million monthly visitors. Our audience is Energy industry people, traders, analysts and oil market professionals, and geopolitical risk analysts. It’s an affluent audience that likes good news and data delivered in an easy to read and digest format.
The business directory will be one of our main product pages – we are looking for a neat, professional looking design. Business people must get the feeling that they are missing out if they’re not registering their company in our directory. OD1 and OD2 (insert attachments) shows a crude mock-up of what the different front-page sections could look like. Please bear in mind that we want these elements, but that the page needs to look appealing esthetically. The directory will have a ‘platinum section’ and a free section. The front page (see OD1) will contain a search function, a rotating set of platinum members, including their logo and small company description. We like the design to be slightly like https://www.bbb.org/ containing a front page image, our logo on the top left, and a clean, but inviting design. (One thing I should mention is that we do not want the main image taking up half the page – to us that is a huge waste of valuable real estate. But we do feel that a good image will be important – it just shouldn’t be the main thing. Next to this, we want room for the hottest press releases at the moment (between 5-10), and perhaps in a rotating format (see OD2). We also like to add the ‘recently seen companies’, and most popular sectors/companies. This part should come under the platinum companies, and could be 3 columns. It would also be good to have an area where we can pitch the service to premium customers. At the bottom of the page, we’d like to have the ‘about us’, disclaimer, and ‘contact us’ bar, like on our homepage (http://oilprice.com/) Important note: we want everyone to be creative, these guidelines are here to help, but if you have your own ideas, we'd be happy to see them - again, our ideas aren't set in stone.
Elements to include in the landing page
search function - categories - upsell function (pitch to become premium business listing) - hottest categories - recently visited listings - Call to action on advertising/ app (get in front of XXXXXX energy professionals) -
We need the design to be clean and professionally looking. Any dull looking design that doesn’t invite me to register my business won’t work for a page like this. Another important thing is that the design colours should be matching with our homepage (https://oilprice.com/) colours and our community pages (https://community.oilprice.com/register/)
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Landing page design starts at ¥37,599.
