drew.stroud got their new logo & business card by running a design contest:
Create an exciting logo for a young, techy accounting start up!

"Certified Public Accountants" - We may or may not want this included in the logo, it really depends on how it will look.
Accounting & Financial
We are a new, young accounting firm. We are modern and tech-savvy - not your typical stodgy old accountants. Our target market is providing outsourced accounting services to small and mid-size businesses - payroll, tax, bookkeeping, CFO services, etc. We want to be seen as business partners that work with you to further your own business - not just number crunchers. UPDATE/EDIT: We are finding that we quite like logos reflecting grapes/vines/trees as local agriculture is a major industry. In particular, we are liking logos that have a modern, abstract interpretation of these agricultural elements. Even better is when some type of financial or accounting element can be included. Keep designing, some really excellent stuff is coming in! UPDATE/EDIT #2: What we've learned after a couple of days: - We do not like the color combinations of green and blue together. Separately or with other colors they are fine, but not together. - The color combinations tend to be a bit muted, probably due to the discussions around agriculture. It might be nice to see some brighter designs and colors but with the same elements we've been talking about. - We have noticed that there have been a couple of more "vintage" designs. While this was not something we thought we would like initially, we're actually really liking them. Obviously this is a complete turnaround from all the web/cloud talk. We're not saying flip directions but just something to keep in mind. - Not sure on this point but some submissions are just logos while other are shown on business cards/other media. Seeing it on a card is extremely helpful. Obviously it is more work but it really helps to picture what it will look like in the flesh. Something to think about.
Other color requirements
Very flexible - you are the designer, surprise us!
We are based in a very agricultural area. Vineyards and orchards are the biggest local crop and therefore many local businesses are involved in vineyards/orchards. It may be a neat element to incorporate vines/grapes/trees into a logo. However, many people in the area do the same so if this element included, it should be done in a unique way! Absolutely fine to not include it as well, just trying to add a bit of context.
