Working with Niat has been most pleasant. They supplied many good designs quickly, and were very reactive to my requests for changes. I would work with Niat again.

How Ballance IT started their logo & business card journey
Who are you known as?
What’s your company slogan?
A Ballanced Approach to Software Craftsmanship [this does not have to be included in the logo, perhaps on the business card somehow]
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Ballance.IT is a software development venture with an eye towards building simple & elegant solutions to address often complex consumer and business needs. I'm looking for something mature, yet with a bit of whimsy. I'm not a fan of overly complex logos, but also not seeking out anything too simple or subtle. This is a brand new venture just getting off the ground and I'd like to attract both tinkerers who have their own idea for an app and medium-sized clients looking for something a bit more robust. The company is just me right now, and I don't want to hide that fact, but also don't want to seem like a fly-by-night venture.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors:
Let designers make suggestions:
Oranges: Creativity, adventure and happiness.
Dark neutrals: Formality, mystery, exclusivity and luxury.

I've played around sketching the concept of "balance" into a logo using cairns & scales but my results have been hokey at best. I'm also an amateur photographer, so if glancing through my photos is helpful to get into my head here's a link https://www.flickr.com/photos/ballance
I'm not married to having "IT" in all caps, so feel free to try it in lowercase if you want. I'm very open to ideas and approaches and try not to constrain the artistic vision of a designer with too many of my own ideas.
I hope that helps. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
