chessenmb got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create a CrowdWork logo for eDiplomacy
Check out chessenmb's Logo design contest…
We are the office of eDiplomacy in United States Department of State. Our product is a crowd-working platform that will enable any office, embassy or consulate to post tasks online, and any employee can respond and complete the task, regardless of physical location. The target audience is entry-level officers, for whom this is a professional development, morale and retention tool (they frequently do long hours of consular work adjudicating visas and this gives them access to a variety of work in their actual specialty) and managers who want to use the tool to get additional work done. While the primary users are the entry level officers, the managers are harder to attract and are more important for marketing purposes.
Logo types to explore
This tool will be used by diplomats worldwide for collaboration. The primary pool of volunteers (people doing the work) will be entry-level Foreign Service personnel. They indicated they are most interested in doing interesting work, helping out colleagues and meeting senior officials. We'd like to reflect these values. The primary pool of requestors (people posting tasks) will be mid to senior level officials so the logo will need to communicate a level of seriousness. They want a tool that is simple, professional and will allow them to get additional work done. Our git wiki with much of our design information is at: https://github.com/Innovation-Toolkit/midas/wiki/Styleguide The demo site is at https://demo.innovationgov.com (Use Chrome) Ignore the certificate error - it's secure You have to log-in to create/edit projects and opportunities (but please make sure anything you create is professional...we use this for demos!) Just use any email and password to create a profile (linkedin doesn't work yet) I also attached a screenshot of our current logos for reference. Aspirationally we'd like to start moving towards a consistent look and feel for our sites, but we don't have a current project for it. TechCamp is one of our favorite logos. We use CamelCase (CrowdWork) in all of our printed materials but it's up to you to decide if we use it in the logo. The preference is yes, but if you have a non camel-case design that works great, then we'll take it!
