The logo needs to create a strong identity while remaining simple/subtle, where the "spotia" text remains mostly unchanged but has a special twist to it, so please don't be afraid to be creative. Preferably the logo should also contain something recognizable that can be used as a standalone icon. A great example of this is the new Google logo, where the icon is simply the G of Google, with all the colors of the logo integrated into the G (see attachments). Please don't copy this idea but I hope it gives you inspiration. It's important that the icon is a result of your creativity in the text logo, and serves as a compact version of the text logo.
DON'T use a well-defined icon to make the logo stand out (like a marker, a planet, an off-button, etc), because it gives a concrete meaning to the logo, but the name "Spotia" doesn't really have a meaning. Make only subtle abstract changes to the text logo, again, Google is a perfect example of this.
The logo should feel flat (flat-like colors only) and modern, no gradients or shadows etc. I would prefer keeping the brand color (our blue #0081c2), but I'm open to integrating other colors into the logo, as long as they're not too dark, as I want it to have a fresh and cheerful look.
The logo should work on both a white and a black/dark background (when colors are inversed I assume).
There's no convention about what the cases of the letters should be like. "Spotia", "SPOTIA", "spotia", are all fine, whatever looks better.
The current logo is in attachment (spotia-old.png).
Example logos where I'd like it to be heading can be found in attachment logos.png -- they all have something in common: clever, unique logos where the text is important and where the overall design is subtle/simple but creates a strong recognizable identity.
