HalalRun is a website/platform for aggregating information about halal food eating options in Western countries. “Halal” is a concept in Islam referring to the preparation of food, specifically meat (chicken, beef, lamb, etc. – the Muslim equivalent of Kosher). Beyond the core idea of meat preparation, there is a broader notion of “halal” that relates to the broader food and drink rules adhered to by an establishment and its kitchen generally. Note that "halal" is not specific to any sort of cuisine -- all cuisines can be "halal" - (burgers, chinese, gourmet, fried chicken, steak, Thai, French, anything) -- as long as the meat is halal. In Western countries with meaningful sized Muslim populations, many restaurants serve halal food. This number is increasing as the population grows – and so a directory or resource/guide is very valuable. Our goal is to create a website/web app that is a resource for consumers looking to eat food that is halal, as well as merchants/restaurants that serve halal food and are trying to reach their customers. Other solutions in the market for halal listings are staid and old, and we want something that is more cutting edge and rich in functionality. Some example sites in this general space (restaurant aggregators, not necessarily halal): Yelp, Chownow, Urbanspoon, Foursquare, Seamless, Doordash, Postmates Note: the treatment of the name should be "HalalRun" (one word, capital H and capital R) Also we plan to use the logo in a variety of settings: on our website, in social media, in online ads, etc. FYI, our tagline/slogan is: "Find your halal eats” — but we don’t want this incorporated into the log. Also please give proper thought to the font -- it would be nice to have an appropriate and distinctive font, although we are open to more common fonts if it works well with the overall logo.
Other color requirements
Logo should be colored but should be designed in such a way that it works well in black and white too.
