titto carefully considered our brief and came up with a winner. He also supplied options to illustrate how our logo could be used on business cards etc which was a helpful insight. Thank you!

How State of K started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
State of K
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
State of K helps people find the best available answer to any empirical question. The website is here: https://www.stateofk.com. It is a platform for creating, improving, and sharing lists of studies that examine the same question. A user submits a question, uses our platform to quickly gather a list of studies on that question, and then our software synthesizes and presents those studies in a way that makes it easy to understand the state of knowledge on that question. It is a question and answer site where you can answer your own question.
Although the present focus is on public policy questions, the target audience is very broad as you can use the platform to answer any empirical question regardless of whether the topic is policy, finance, pregnancy, childcare, sports, etc.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?

This is a clever design because the logo integrates the hound into the antlers of the hart.
This is bold design, extending beyond the rectangular area many logos are circumscribed by. I also like the colors. My two objections to this design are that the logo doesn't say anything about the product/service/company and the font is too thin - it's a bit hard to read.
This is a clever design because the paint splash very subtly resembles a crown.
The logo should reflect what the service does. I had thought the logo should reference bar charts (see the first few links on the homepage (stateofk.com) to see what I'm talking about), but I'm open to other design ideas. Concepts to consider when brainstorming designs: data, study lists, democracy. The design should be clever and also inspire trust. Please avoid overly corporate designs.
