Ken222039 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Help The Impulse Foundry with a new logo
Check out Ken222039's Logo design contest…
Impulse Foundry is a communications company that does two things: 1. Trains companies and individuals how to be more innovative, more creative, communicate better, create better (and more engaging presentations), use social media to create engaging conversations and connections with customers, and to just have more fun every day. We retrain companies how to perform in the 21st century Social Media age, and abandon the Victorian assembly line culture of the last 100 years. We do this using tools like improv and standup comedy, classical acting, and storytelling skills from Hollywood's most respected screenwriters. We help companies create a culture that people WANT to work for. 2. We create engaging comedic content and presentations for companies using those same skills. Internal training, promotional videos, presentations for live meetings, etc. Maybe a a Saturday Night Live-style sketch. Or a fake expert speaker to kick off your quarterly company meeting. How about a PowerPoint presentation that gets laughs instead of snores. Or ethics-training videos that are funny and engaging, so your employees will actually want to watch them. Web videos, animated ads, industrials - we work with companies to make effective and entertaining content.
Logo types to explore
Ideally this should invoke the ideas of retraining the way people think with an old fashioned idea of a foundry. Images I've played with have been anvils, molten metal beig poured from a foundry bucket into a stylized head (forging new impulses), lightning bolts and atoms. Our current tag line is: Forging Companies for the 21st Century and Beyond. We use a lot of tools from comedy, but the design should not have a comedy focus or try to be funny. A comedic tone could come from being overly serious or dramatic, but that isn't necessary. It should appeal to executives at forward thinking progressive companies. I've been drawn to an WPA style graphics, and a retro feel, because feels something established, something fun, somthing grand, and a dichotomy of the past moving into the future.

And then… they selected a winner!
SloveT did a great job for us, submitting a whole collection of creative designs, several of which ended up in our final review, despite very stiff competition from many excellent designers. SloveT's also worked tirelessly to make the modifications we requested. Even after the contest was over and the files had all been delivered, we needed an additional modification that SloveT executed for us immediately. Great designer! Great work ethic! Great person to work with!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
