Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
TheBYODClassroom (bring your own device) provides products and services that help teachers use more technology in their classrooms to assist students through the learning process. We will provide information on education technology (e.g. apps, software and websites) that can be accessed through handheld devices (e.g. phones and tablets) to encourage students to learn. Services include training courses, one-on-one mentoring, blogging and access to community feedback. Products include easy-to-use reference worksheets that breakdown multiple apps to their simplest form. The worksheets will show information such as the app's use, pros, cons, and troubleshooting tips applicable to specific student needs. For example, there is an educational app named Kahoot. On the worksheet I explain the purpose of the app, along with the great and not-so-great things about it. Tips for using it in the classroom based on the students (e.g. special needs students, science classes, gifted, etc.) are included too. Our values are community, simplicity and we always put the learner's first. The target audience are educators of all kinds which includes teachers, administrators, tutors, homeschoolers, etc.

The company was founded by two millennials that recognize the potential behind every learner. We want to use technology to engage students and get them to fall in love with learning. The site is fun, personable and simple enough that any teacher can use it. This generation uses technology A LOT and teachers are feeling the pressure to transition their traditional classrooms into "device-friendly" classrooms. This website is a lifeline to guide them through making these changes, one step a time.
