How kerryaviva started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Into The Melting Pot
What’s your company slogan?
Moving and Meaning
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
IntoTheMeltingPot (or Into The Melting Pot), depending on logo is a blog written largely for women (between 25 and 75yrs). It is about Moving and Meaning. Moving is hard. Moving across the world (without a specific purpose) is possibly insane. This blog is for all those who have done it or who are doing it, now or in the future, the realities of moving and how to find a home…
It’s also about meaning. Why? Because like a man I studied for many years, Viktor Frankl, I believe life is unconditionally meaningful and I believe that as humans, we are all motivated by meaning. And to get through any move, you have to be able to find meaning.
Why is it called IntoTheMeltingPot?
• According to Wikipedia, (the repository of all human knowledge), the melting pot is a metaphor for a heterogeneous society becoming more homogeneous, the different elements “melting together” into a harmonious whole with a common culture. It is particularly used to describe the assimilation of immigrants to the United States. In other words, it is considered to be a metaphor used to describe a fusion of nationalities, cultures and ethnicities. Ergo, if you have ever moved away from home, you are going to find yourself in a melting pot situation… (I have recently moved to the USA from South Africa)
• When I think of a melting pot, I think of a more than just a move. I think of life. A blend of different colours, shapes and sizes. My life has many dimensions, some work better than others, and at different times, but all have unconditional meaning… even if it is not always obvious at the time… but always in retrospect.
The blog is intended to provide the reader with the opportunity to look at life (and its challenges) from a different perspective. Hopefully it will result in speaking and workshop opportunities for the author.
Logo types to explore
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
I would like to build a brand from this logo so want it to be catchy and very versatile ie usable in print and on social medial and everything in-between.
I would ideally like a logo that depicts my brand:
-with or without its slogan
-has an image that is incorporated into the name such that the image can also be used on its own (for example the logo attached can have the full name or the rose on its own to depict/ reference it).
