Petra Jaya Properties is a property development and management company based in Kuching, Malaysia, established in 1988. Its primary focus is on residential real estate development but does undertake selective commercial projects. It serves all strata of the market from affordable homes to higher-end homes (but not bespoke). In the past three years, the company has taken steps to lift its public profile through its housing projects, engagement with government bodies and the community - part of the impetus to refresh its ageing logo.

The present logo is about 10 years old and needs refreshing/updating. The jagged lines in the logo are mirrored off a topographical plan showing contour lines, alluding to the company’s land-related activities. The lines selected were in an upward (left to right) to signify positive growth (and profit). The colours in the present logo were selected as a balance of earthy tones (down to earth, real estate etc) and brightness. The rectangular, portrait-orientation bears no significance except perhaps reflecting some level of conservatism on the part of the former designer and the MD at the time. The logo “refresh” we’re looking for should embrace and/or project our company vision which, put briefly, is to leave a lasting legacy of benefits and satisfaction to all our stakeholders.
