I love my designs! nyessMEDIA paid close attention to what I asked for, reviewed all the examples I shared, and worked closely with me to tweak small details along the way until the final product was exactly what I wanted. Super-satisfied!
Just awesome! And easy to work with. Looking forward to working with him again.

Gaze is an Android app following the Android Material Design guidelines. Target group are gay men. Basically it's a beefed up address book where guys can create contact cards of friends, dates/lovers, acquaintances, chat partners etc. in addition to the usual address book fields like phone number, address etc. users can save a myriad of additional fields like body features, work, hobbies, fetishes, xxx preferences etc. Also, the users can keep an "encounter journal" to keep track of meetups.
The app is already online on Google Play in case you want to have a look to get a better feel of how the it feels like and what it does. https://play.google.com/store/apps/…et.gazeapp
Color-wise I think the app itself should not be too bright in color. However, for the color of the logo I'm very open. It does not necessarily have to have the green of the current logo. Although it should match the gray-ish layout of the app (but if I like the logo I could also alter the app layout to make it match the logo). Best propably is a clear logo that pops and stands out on the phone in the list of all the other apps installed on the phone. That means it can be of a bright color. Also important to note is that the icon should be conform to the Android Material Design guidelines (for Launcher icons). See: https://developer.android.com/guide…ncher.html

Other color requirements
We currently use these main colors in the app:
Primary color #486370
Primary color dark: #2a3d46
Primary color light: #cfd8dc
Accent color: #ffcc66
The current color of the app is dark gray. So the best color choice for an app icon probably is some brighter color (something that gives a good contrast). Maybe a gold-yellow? Or a red? I have no preference. Imagine the icon floating on top of a dark-gray background. Just imagine that it should stand out on the phone in the list of all installed apps.
I may change the color of the app if the app icon better fits over a different color than gray (in other words, the gray is not set in stone).

I like the clear vector graphic stile. Color-wise not really suited for the app, though.
I like the modern design. clear lines. And it's not too busy, which is important for an app icon.
I like the elegance of that logo. Although it might be too thin for an app icon.
Pro: Clear lines, not too busy. I like the abstractness of it.
I like the mascot. I can imagine having a mascot for the app. However, I rather have a guy in the logo than a fantasy animal. It does not necessarily have to be a guy, it can also be completely abstract design.
I like the vector graphic and clear lines. It's simple and looks great.
I like the vector graphic and font.
These are good examples of app icons in the "material design". They are clear in shape with a nice color. And important to note that they do not have a drop shadow.
Some more inspiration/ideas on what kind of style the app icon should have.
The app should be branded as "trendy" - maybe even a bit hipster. It should appeal to gay men between the age ~20 and ~45.
