We Sell Books got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for a high-tech, multi-product company ESDA LLC (possibly a modern take on the Hydra or Ouroboros)
Check out We Sell Books's Logo design contest…
We are a company-of-companies, with a variety of high-tech holdings including remote sensing, data mining, hardware, and ecommerce businesses.
Logo types to explore
ESDA LLC's philosophy is to pursue multiple paths simultaneously, and to create opportunities for those paths to overlap and reinforce each other in productive ways, leading to consistent growth and progress. Concepts like positive feedback loops, bricolage, and productive chaos factor heavily into our business strategy. Concepts that capture the idea of a feedback loop (the classic Ouroboros, for example), the integration of multiple paths into one whole, etc. may be worth exploring. The final logo, however, should be quite stylized, and any pictorial elements should **subtly** reflect ESDA LLC's strategy and goals; we are NOT looking for something which looks like it belongs on a Magic: The Gathering card. Use minimal colors, keep things simple, and keep in mind that many of our holdings fall into the "Web 2.0" category. The ideal logo should feature a small pictorial element, as well as the shortened company name "ESDA LLC". Capitalization is not strict. Ideally, the logo should also be able to include the full business name "Ebers Smith and Douglas Associated LLC" for use on legal/official documents. We would like to be able to use the pictorial element + the shortened OR full business name depending on the context. A sample idea, generated internally, is attached as "logo_idea.pdf." Note that we are not designers; this is intended to give a sense of the basic kind of thing we're looking for CONCEPTUALLY, not color scheme, color choice, typeface, etc.
