Artashes needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 135 designs submitted by 36 freelance designers.
TalkFreelance.com
TalkFreelance is one of the oldest and largest communities for freelancers, connecting web designers, coders, developers, writers and SEO professionals.
THE MOTIVATION.
This is a great opportunity for any designer to have his/her work become a symbol and be displayed on a website that serves over 500,000 creative individuals annually!
THE STORY BEHIND THE LOGO.
TalkFreelance (http://www.talkfreelance.com) is an established community of talented designers and coders with a long history. While it has had its challenges over the past few years, the spirit and the will for the community to succeed remains high within the members. After taking over the site, my team and I have been working hard to develop a brand new look and feel that we want to carry the community forward with.
The idea was to rebuild the site into clean, elegant, creative and intuitive look that is equally functional and productive. The current look has long outlived the modern web standards with people leaning toward usage of more modern, functional and socially engaging apps.
THE LOGO.
Our audience, as mentioned above, consists of a creative pool of people: designers, coders, entrepreneurs and other Internet professionals.
The logo should convey the message of a premium trusted resource for knowledge, business and social activity.
We want TalkFreelance to get to its older days of glory through modern applications and premium content that we will be busy creating in the near future (a blog, a modern electronic marketplace, social apps, etc). The objective for this logo is to serve our needs over a long-term.
As you can see from the uploaded sample logos, I like different styles. Most of them are similar in a way that each has a graphical element that is symbolic of the business it represents.
The logo should fit well into the existing new design that is currently being coded. I attached a couple of screenshots of the new design. While there are very minor differences between them, you can confidently design your concepts taking the overall look of the site. However, the logo should look terrific not only when integrated into the look, but also standalone on a white/colored/black background as I intend to place it on print media, and possible merchandise.
THE FEEDBACK.
I am big on feedback, I know how important it is for the process, so I will do my best of giving each of you my comments.
Best of luck to each of you and I am looking forward to seeing this contest pay off.
