Chip3 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New logo wanted for CustomScoop

Logo types to explore
We are looking to upgrade the existing CustomScoop logo to incorporate the company name alongside the product name. The company is eOutreach and CustomScoop is the product. I have uploaded the existing CustomScoop and eOutreach logos along with an internal attempt at incorporating the two. (I should add that we are not big fans of the CS in the internal logo) The new logo should emphasize CustomScoop but make clear that it is an eOutreach product. The design needs to work with our existing website and collateral so the color(s) need to be consistent with our existing palette at www.CustomScoop.com

And then… they selected a winner!
Working with Lena has been a joy, right from the very first version of the logo she devised – which struck me for its ingenuity – through to the last files. Lena was very proactive in making changes along the way, going further than the input I provided and polishing the design more when I didn't even ask for it. I have no hesitations recommending her!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
