Mobile Food truck needs a fancy logo Brief Overview I am an entrepreneur who is launching a Food Truck in Bangor, Maine starting in June 2012. I have a German background; however my profession allowed me travelling the word. I lived in several countries until I came to the US last year after marrying my husband. We live in the near of Bangor, Maine. In the past I worked in business administrations for big international companies. But my real profession was always preparing good food, serving guests and the experience of eating. My travels introduced me to a wide range of very special food, but my passion was always the “southern” style. I prefer Mexican and Mediterranean food and I love to cook this style for family members and friends, now I feel experienced enough and well prepared to serve the public with all my specialties on Bangor’s first Food Truck. Brand Name CIELOS, Mexican Grill Target Audience Bangor is in the heart of Maine, close to the Canadian border, offers residents and visitors alike the best of both worlds: a small friendly city that's filled with excitement, opportunity and activity, and a gateway to the natural beauty of this great state. People in Bangor love to dine out and there is huge variety of restaurants, as measured by the population. However, right now there is no Food Truck operating on a daily basis, neither a Food Truck scene. So we would be the first in this area. Our concept provides that we are operating on a daily basis, serving the people of the greater Bangor area, visitors and the students and employees of the University of Maine. People here love eating varieties of food and after checking the permit requirements with the City, we got very positive feedback on our idea from all responsible individuals.. Our target market is the lunch time office crowd, students, visitors, the happy hour afternoon nibblers and the late night after hour’s party-goers. The food truck also serves concert/festival and event goers. In the future we want to provide people with a Catering service. Specialty Bangor’s first Food Truck offers mainly Mexican food. On special occasions, we will serve Mediterranean food as well, cucina Andalusia. We try working exclusively with Maine farmers and we are very focused on an organic aspect in our food. The idea is,that our clientele build their own meal out of a variety of specialties. My husband and I are not living an “alternative” lifestyle. We are hardworking business people and we love the good things in live. And we are aware of the fact that it is important with what you feed yourself and to obtain yourself healthy and happy. That is what we want to bring to the crowd: delicious, healthy food with a fun aspect.
Logo types to explore
Requirements With the CIELOS logo we are looking for a playful use of the word. We want it to be clear that we are serving delicious, healthy food but we do not want typical cliché restaurant related images. We do not want the organic aspect in the logo, but we will show it on the truck with our very special Vinyl wrap. We want the logo to be smart and sassy with some edgy sexiness. Feel free to explore the fact that we are a mobile food truck business. CIELOS means “some heaven” (We want to serve heavenly food with a note of “hell” by making it sometimes very spicy. Feel free to play with the idea of heaven and hell) But it is up to you to convince us with other ideas. Important to us is, that people realize real fast that we are a Food Truck serving food. With the CIELOS logo we are looking for a playful but modern and sophisticated use of the word. We want the logo to be smart and modern looking. Feel free to check this out: http://tinyurl.com/2fv5tf8 The use of color needs to be bold and strong because it needs to stand out and make our food truck memorable. We want to be seen from a distance. 1. No Mexican flags, no chili’s, beans only when they are showed in a fancy funny way, please not the usual Mexican Restaurant stuff, no parrots, no Mexican hats 2. We want bold contemporary modern colors like purple, pink, green, turquoise, yellow, black, brown. Use of white and red also possible. Attention: the ground color of the Truck will be a very fancy green, like a guacamole, lime green 3. Modern, contemporary, sleek look and feel, make my customers hungry! 4. Please do not go overly cartoonish we are serving sophisticated, yummy and hip street food 5. The logo will be used on the truck itself as well as translate well on the web and all our marketing materials. It is not requirement but you can choose to incorporate the tag line Fresh & Local. Additional Information When the Food Truck business is a success story, we are thinking about opening a restaurant with the same name and food. So we would love to have a logo that suits a Food Truck and a restaurant as well Enclose there is a graphic of of a Food Truck. It comes very close to what we have. Feel free superimpose your logo idea on it ( see last attached file)
