LunaH-Map
Lunar Polar Hydrogen Mapper
We are team at Arizona State University designing, building and operating a NASA spacecraft that will orbit the Moon. Our spacecraft is a microsatellite that will be launched on SLS EM-1 in 2018. Our satellite will orbit the Moon at a very low altitude and make maps of water-ice hidden in permanently shadowed craters at the lunar South Pole using a neutron spectrometer.
More information about the mission can be found here http://lunahmap.asu.edu
The patch will be used in a variety of publications, public outreach presentations, posters, and mission collaterals. The patch may be etched into the spacecraft, which will land on the Moon at the end of the mission.
I'd like to explore the following colors:
Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty.
Dark neutrals: Formality, mystery, exclusivity and luxury.
Reds: Energy, action, passion and love.
I would like a semi-traditional NASA mission patch/logo with some modern/simple elements. Traditional NASA mission patches allow the viewer to understand at a high level the mission concept just by looking at the path. In this case, our mission is a micro-satellite (14kg) that will fly very low over the lunar south pole (like an airplane). We will focus specifically on craters that are permanently in shadow.
