Thai-Tuga got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Thai-Tuga seeks a powerful international logo
Check out Thai-Tuga's Logo design contest…
We are Thai-Tuga, a Thai restaurant in Lisbon, Portugal, and we serve accessible, Thai homestyle dishes. We serve original, unknown Thai dishes, which are the typically home-cooked family dishes of the Esan area (along the Mekong river, by the frontier with Laos and Cambodia) Our meals are naturally gluten-free, white-sugar-free (we use coconut sugar instead of industrial white sugar), MSG free, milk-free, potato-free and organic/biological. We want our atmosphere and decoration to be different from the typical Thai restaurants because we prefer not to be another Thai Art museum or a Thai temple that happens to serve meals. Instead, we want to have a homely decoration with an efficient table distribution that allows space for sitting and flowing. Our intended market is anyone: - aged 4-99 - office workers, families or tourists - who look for a good variety of dishes - who have no time or patience to wait a long time for their meal - who look for healthy and accessible yet tasty food - who cannot eat gluten or sugar or are allergical to MSG or lactose - who value organic and biological food Foreseen evolution: - 1st year as a local traditional restaurant, - 2nd year as a portuguese franchise, - 3rd year and onwards as a european and global franchise What the name means: Both Thailand and Portugal are globally known as friendly and beautiful countries, with very accessible prices and high quality gastronomy. Tuga is the friendly and intimate way of saying Portuguese (it started in Brazil as "Portuga" and then evolved to simply "Tuga") Some additional notes: - We are an eco responsible company as we care about where our ingredients come from and we check how our waste is processed and recycled. - We are also a socially responsible company as we employ people with Down Syndrome and other somehow diminishing conditions that make it harder for them to get a job. - We will soon create a Fund to support local schools in the Esan area, as well as young entrepreneurs with valid projects/ideas that need training, financing or support to go global. This is not a simple charity fund - we want it to be a life-changing tool that will allow the Esan area, which is one of the poorest rural areas in Thailand.
(Last minute note: no more elephants, please. They will be declined.) What we would like to see in our logo (not mandatory, feel free to ignore this and/or surprise us): - it should be so simple that a child can draw it - it should be clearly Thai-related - it has to be easily recognised and differentiated anywhere in the world - it must support our business image in all 3 stages (local, national and global) - the drawing part must survive on its own without the wording (if you would somehow put it on a table - it would stand firm, powerful and stable, yet noble and elegant) - avoid script fonts
