A stylised background for an about.me page that incorporates one of the attached character designs. You may design multiple versions, but each design must only have one character on the page.
The characters are attached using the original files, so they should fit on top of the background
My about.me page is available at the following location: http://mwatson.co.uk.
If you are having trouble fitting the character into the design, you may alter the character designs where necessary e.g. change from sitting to standing, standing to sitting, add a scenery if needed etc...
To test the design, it may be worth creating an about.me account, as there are various tools available to assist with the creation of the page.
about.me pages have guidance for background images so that they should be able to fit the following three areas:
- 960 X 620
- 1024 X 768
- 1680 X 1050
The design should look good in each of those areas (again, you may need to create an about.me account to test the design), and should have the ability to fade into a solid surrounding background colour (which ever colour you choose fit for your design).
Prefered colours are:
- Light blue
But please, do not be afraid to show me a design that uses alternative colours, as not all colours fit with the characters supplied.
Some ideas for background design patters are as follows:
- "Sunburst" design
- Grunge effect
- Natual Textures
- Floral Patters e.g vines and leafs
- Circles and clouds
- Combination of the above
- Perhaps logos of systems such as Umbraco, HTML5, Facebook, Twitter etc... either as alpha blended backgound pattern, or as items emerging from a floral pattern?
I am also open to any other ideas you may have.
The text on the page can be altered, the font / size / background colour can all be changed and its position can be moved, so please feel free to play around with the design of the page. Use the buttons on the top of the page to view random profiles and see what they have come up with.
I have recently become an Umbraco certified developer, so if that logo can be incorporated in anyway, that would be a bonus.
