What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The World Affairs Councils of America is the largest non-profit grassroots organization in the United States dedicated to educating and engaging Americans on global issues with nearly 100 councils across 40 states reaching more than half a million people a year. Our target audience are intellectual, globally minded people. They are leaders in their local communities in business, education, and government. However, we are working hard to engage youth and broader audiences across the generational spectrum.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
A program cover (outside design only) for our 2014 National Conference, titled "America and the World 2015." The Conference will examine America's role in the world and its challenges and opportunities in 2015. The Conference will also cover: China, the U.S., and Asia; Russia/Eurasia; Cybersecurity; Future of Education; Youth, Jobs, and Social Unrest; Food and Water; Global Economic Realignment; Future of Energy; Africa; and Climate Change. The dates of the conference are November 5-7, 2014. The conference will be held at The Fairfax at Embassy Row. It is being held in Washington, DC. Please include this information in an aesthetically pleasing way. We want a cover that illustrates the United States' role in a complex world. While this might sound grim, we'd like the cover to convey a sense of optimism and opportunity. We will be using this program as well for future fundraising endeavors, so we’d like the cover to also communicate that we are a serious, globally minded organization that is essential to an informed public. The program booklet is 5.5" x 11" (Height x Width). Attached is a program booklet for the "World Affairs 2014" conference that conveys the style of cover that we'd like.
We need this as soon as possible. I will be available over the weekend (10/31-11/2) to correspond about this. Attached are three of our logos. One in blue. The set against white and centered. One transparent but laid out horizontally. We encourage you to please make a cover using each one. We are not sure yet which logo we will use for the program. However, do not use more than one of the logos on the same program cover design. I look forward to working with you on this.
