rowenchris got their new poster by running a design contest:
Cognite 300 Startup Poster
Check out rowenchris's Poster contest…
Cognite Ventures is a investment and analysis firm, focused on helping startups in deep learning and artificial intelligence. This poster is intended to make both Cognite Ventures and the community of startups more visible to a broad professional audience interested in entrepreneurship around deep learning
What's your vision?
I have created a list of the top 300 startups in deep learning and sorted them into about 16 categories. I want a graphic designer to lay out a poster in 4:3 format that shows the logo of each startup sorted into the 16 categories. The task involves coming up with a visually appealing structure for the page, fetching the logos from the web and laying them out.
I have attached one similar poster below, as well as the Cognite Ventures logo. I have also attached the Excel spreadsheet that contains the names with the categories to which they are assigned. The Vision, Embedded, and Country categories are extra categories, which should be represented in some additional way if you can think of a way, using colors or subregions of the poster. However, the most important categories are the following: Security, Surveillance, Monitoring Autonomous Vehicles Human-Machine Interface Drones and Robots Silicon Platforms Deep Learning Cloud Compute/Data Platform and Services Vision as a Service Audio and Language as a Service Marketing and Advertising CRM and HR Operations, Logistics and Manufacturing Aeirial Imaging and Mapping Medicine and Health Care Social Media, Entertainment and Lifestyle Finance, Insurance and Commerce IT Operations and Security I have sorted the spreadsheet to gather together category together, but you can sort in other ways. I have also now added a final spreadsheet which makes the 16 "Primary Categories" more clear. A company may appear in more than one primary category - in this case the name should be shown in both categories. I would like the three "Secondary Categories" to be expressed in some way, if possible. Perhaps the Country can be shown with a tiny flag. Perhaps you can find another way to indicate membership of companies in the embedded and vision secondary categories.
