I wanted to respond to the 'hard labour' theme of the brand and found a way to do so through the use of the background illustrations. The flavours 'Pale Ale' and 'Juicy NEIPA' contain a background illustration of The Forge at the Derosne & Cail Company, Grenelle by Edmond Morin (1869) while the 'Double Ambre' depicts Rolling Armor-Plates (1861). These etchings reference the hard labour theme in depicting scenes from the industrial revolution, while the fact that they were themselves etchings, itself a very labour-intensive and time-consuming process, reinforces this theme. The dark theming of the illustration allows it to fit into the background without competing with the branding of the beer company or the flavour name, instead being an interesting detail for the user to discover.
The tabular arrays for holding numerical information also play into the theme, referencing the inventory lists and timesheets that came to prominence during the industrial revolution.
