Not a very imaginative designer. You must be very specific with your design and inspirational material. Otherwise, they will simply put together the most basic design possible without emphasis on textures, fonts, iconography, etc. If you want a basic designer to put circles and boxes and text on a page, go for it. I was also disappointed that details were not paid attention to in the drafts. For example, text would be misaligned, icons would be off centered. While it was a draft, I've never had a designer defend that that is ok.
