RoastLog got their new t-shirt by running a design contest:
Love coffee? RoastLog needs a t-shirt design!
Check out RoastLog's T-shirt contest…
We build software for coffee roasters. RoastLog has been around for almost two years and we've grown to have a respectable number of coffee roasters using our system all over the world.
What's your vision?
We have a conference coming up in mid-April and we would like to bring some t-shirts to give away to customers and potential customers. The purpose of the t-shirts is to get folks excited about our product and spread our brand through the coffee industry. We don't have any big ideas for a t-shirt design, but we just want it to look cool (how's that for vague?) Last year we printed some shirts which were a rip-off from an album cover (attached in the images section). Here are some photos of roasters, if you'd like to use a roaster as inspirations: http://www.flickriver.com/photos/tags/probat/interesting/ And here what roaster curves look like: - http://roastlog.com/tour/roastlogger/ - http://roastlog.com/tour/inbox/ - http://roastlog.com/roasts/public/ We also just picked a new home page design from 99Designs: http://99designs.com/web-design/contests/love-coffee-give-roastlog-updated-landing-page-118154/entries/12148082 The design direction can be anything really...since we don't know what we want, we'll do our best to be quick with feedback.
Most of the recipients of this t-shirt will most likely be relatively young (under 40) fun people. Coffee roasters and people in the coffee industry are typically pretty relaxed and informal. I would guess that it's about 80/20 men/women. 2/13/2012 - logo vector art uploaded - De-stress "Coffee Informatics" in favor of "RoastLog" Coffee Informatics, LCC is the business name, but RoastLog is the brand and what people know us by. It'd be fine if Coffee Informatics wasn't on the shirts at all. - Roaster imagery has potential. Many coffee roasters (the people) are really passionate about what they do. They *love* their roasters (the machine). - RoastLog is about applying technology to a craft. Our tools help roasters (the people) do a better job roasting coffee without taking control away from them. For those roasters (the people) who have big, fancy, automated roasting machines, we can help them too with software that's pleasant and easy to use, online, regularly updated and maintained, and affordable. - We have vector art for the typographic logo, but I can't upload that until later today. Stay tuned...
