MME currently provides online continuous medical education courses for students to purchase. It is starting a subsidiary business and website. The new business will create an online crowd sourcing solution that will enable content authors (the “crowd”) to efficiently connect with organizations (content seekers) who are in search of custom educational content to meet specific needs of the organization and its members. This model would be analogous to 99 designs where the "designer" is the content author and the customer is the source that requires custom content.
This is our current website for students http://www.mintmedicaleducation.com. We are not looking to replace this site but rather create a new website for the new subsidiary
similar to 99 design. soft color pallet. bold call to action. simple/staightforward design. limited use of photo/illustration. we don't want to create too many distractions for the user
Home page: Tag Line: "Connecting content seekers with certified authors to create custom presentations" Design is simple, clean and provides the user with limited options to enroll and makes it very easy to get started. Include "How It Works" video. The theme should distinguish the site as a progressive high quality education meeting place using subtle "silhouette" imagery . Include two large call to action buttons: AUTHOR ENROLLMENT & CONTENT SEEKER Pg. 2 Author enrollment brief: o Education info (free form) o Content subject(s) (free form) o CV (upload) o Sample work—key papers, published content (upload & free form) o Key papers, published content (free form) o Fee schedule (multiple choice) o Geographic constraints (multiple choice/drop down) o Academic affiliations (free form) o Industry affiliations (free form) Conflict of interest disclosure (upload) o Content delivery method (multiple choice) a. live presentation b. on demand audio/video c. pod cast d. abstract o Photo (upload) o Hobbies (free form) o Where else published (free form) o Personal statement (free form) - Openness to student engagement (multiple choice) Also, Include section on the page for sample enrolled Author profiles for new users to reference as they create their own 3rd page: Content seeker brief 1st part: Organization registration process—very simple registration with no validation. Phased application where we capture basic info initially: First name, Last name, Title, Organization Name, Specialty, Email (SUBMIT to capture info) then goes to 2nd section with more questions. Content Design Brief combo of drop-down and open text field questions - Educational gap (free form) - Topic area (drop down + free form) - Presentation method (multiple choice) If LIVE, would you like to publish this content online as well (choice) - Content objectives (free form) - Due date - Presentation length
What to avoid
Dont clutter the pages with illustration that will distract the user (for instance I don't like all the animation going on in the background on the home page of Wooshii). This a healthcare site so we dont want to do anything too bold (no bright colors) except use large font and big buttons
It's fine to only show us 1-2 pages on the qualifying round. This project will not replace the MME current website. It will be either a separate domain or developed into the current MME site.
