mwaldner got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Help Cyberday with a new website design

CYBERDAY is an online agency that focuses on E-Commerce development, consulting and hosting. We want to reshape our website and give it to an up-to-date design. And with “date” we mean “tomorrow” ;)
Additionally to the pages named above: http://orangeapple.com/ http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/ http://www.indubitablee.com/ http://www.les-sushi-codeurs.fr/ http://imagemechanics.com.au
We like art, we like web 2.0, we like conversions, and we like to be different from our challengers. As we are an online development agency, we are able to realize fun things in the web using state of the art technologies. We know that web development is not the funniest topic out there, but it’s far away from being as boring as some people may think ;) So please don’t let our website be boring either. We create E-Business Solutions for our customers because they want to make money with our help. For that reason the design must signal trustworthiness and professionalism and must provide high usability. We like clean and light designs – not too colorful. Please use the colors defined in this brief. Feel free to add additional ones if you have to. There are no defined fonts so you can play with typos and sizes. Just make sure that they are free to use. In the attachments you can find some icons we use for our brochures. We like to use them for our website as well. As these are very similar to each other there shouldn’t be too many of them on one page. Due to the rapidly growing market share of iPhone, iPad or Galaxy Tab a very important criteria for us is that the design perfectly works for Computers as well as for touchscreen devices. There are some mockups attached. Just take them as guidelines for which contents are important to us. Please don’t just fill the screens with colors. Be creative! And finally the most important hint: You can take contents from out actual website www.cyberday-gmbh.de but don’t take the design for your inspiration! Page 1 - Homepage Header Navigation menu items: “eCommerce”, “Hosting”, “Marketing”, “Kontakt” An area at the top where we can teaser actual information/offers/products (we like e.g. https://www.amoderneden.com/, http://www.jeroenhoman.com/, http://mailchimp.com/, http://www.moodyinternationalllc.com/ ). This not necessarily has to be a slider but it may be one. When you design a slider, please consider that we want to have a little more than basic moves and functionalities. Three permanent teasers for our core business elements “E-Commerce”, “Hosting Solutions”, “Marketing Solutions” (We like http://www.foxtie.com/, http://hootsuite.com/ ). The mockups contain some example headlines and copies. Some minor teasers for casual offers Contact: Easy to use, small but effective contact form (Name, First Name, Message, Newsletter Checkbox), Phone number 089 – 23 23 92 94 and email address email@example.com Content area: There are some contents which are not as important for the visitor but for several reasons we want to display them on the frontpage: • Social media icons linking to our profiles (fb, twitter, xing,) - We are not sure whether this is the optimal spot for those. Maybe a social media header or a placement in the footer would be better • logos of our customers • logos of some of our partners • Social Responsibility: logos of our social engagement partners + short copy • Integration of the latest Blog-Headlines Footer: • Columns for SEO and corporate links • Newsletter registration • Copyright information Page 2 - Content page We like to use the content page for content pages as well as for landingpages. Please consider that the teaser area may be left blank. The design has to work without that element. Copy: Please define all necessary styles that usually occur in a copytext. There also should be an implementation of social media share buttons (fb like, twitter, +1) References: We like to show relevant references at this point. We considered using a carousel or a slider. Creative ideas are welcome.
