The Impossible Odds Foundation
The Impossible Odds Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children around the world. In 2006, the Foundation developed a campaign to raise awareness of the role of the Internet in the lives of missing and exploited children. More than 2.8 million people visited the Light a Million Candles website. Recently, the Foundation has raised funds to benefit children orphaned or abandoned because of HIV/AIDS.
A small percentage of funds raised may be used to develop and support marketing programs for fundraising events. A record of all revenues collected and funds disbursed by The Impossible Odds Foundation are available upon request. Donors to the Impossible Odds Foundation will receive US charitable tax receipts upon request.

There are 196 sovereign nations in the world. 89 of those countries have no laws against the exploitation of children. The Impossible Odds Foundation is developing a strategy to address this issue. The need and the audience are global. We may proceed with this initiatve one country at a time. We might start with countries such as Taiwan, Japan and China. We will apply the knowledge we gain from these early efforts to other countries or territories. We may partner with the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
The website needs to explain who we are and what we do. It should be able to be modified to suit the different initiatives we may undertake. (Fundraising initiatives such as marathons or the Iron Man.) We would also want to be able to receive donations from the public. We would want to be able to receive communication from the audience. It is almost as important that we receive hits as it is that we receive donations. Our strategy is to raise the profile of the issue and raise funds to help address the issues we raise. http://www.lightamillioncandles.com was an extremely effective website. With very little promotion we drew over 2 million hits from every part of the world.
Number of pages
The first page should carry the Mission Statement of the Impossible Odds Foundation. There should be a section holding brief summaries of past initiatives. The site should be able to receive viewer's comments. There should be a blog and contact forms and the ability to receive donations.
The design will consist of 2 pages, the home page and a secondary page to be used as a template for various content pages: menu, about us, contact, history, etc. Both pages will have the same header and footer. The header will contain our name and menu items such as about us, contact, history etc. The footer will contain the same links as the header as well as badge icons for Twitter and Facebook.
There is no existing website for Protect the Children or the Impossible Odds Foundation.
