hsingh1 got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Video Contest and Crowdfunding Platform Design
Check out hsingh1's Web page design contest…
Our crowdsourcing platform allows high school and college students to compete in contests to produce educational videos that are centered on Sikh culture. Anyone can create a challenge on a specific educational topic and sponsors can help fund the challenge. Once the challenge is fully funded, then contestants can compete for prizes.
Clean and crisp. Special attention to typography mixed with clean icons and images. We particularly like icons that are more abstract made of clean lines than photo-realistic icons. Your design should not prohibit adaptive design. The platform is built using Bootstrap CSS (our UI Kit is here - http://bit.ly/1GJfUTF). We have neither settled on any colors nor on typography. Our logo is here (http://bit.ly/1M2bXKN) and it can be converted to any color. We prefer Kickstarter's fluid design as opposed to boxy design of Indiegogo. We however like that Indiegogo is more information-rich and highlights multiple contests right on its home page. The images that are used should represent the Sikh community: https://www.flickr.com/search/?q=sikh
1. Homepage: We want rotating banners on the top spelling out the value proposition for different audiences--students, parents, sponsors, etc. In addition, we need to feature challenges that have already begun (CHALLENGES IN PROGRESS), and challenges that need to be sponsored before they begin (SPONSOR A CHALLENGE) 2. Start a Challenge Form: This is going to be much like Kickstarter campaign form (https://www.kickstarter.com/start). It should be broken into parts for ease of use. We have a working form on our QA site that you can see and wrap your design around. 3. The Challenge page itself: Each challenge will be broken into stages (see OpenIDEO as a good example, https://openideo.com/challenge/amnesty/winners-announced) but please see our QA site for the exact structure of the challenge page. 4. Entry page: Each entry will have its own page, again see OpenIDEO for inspiration (https://openideo.com/challenge/amnesty/winners-announced/amnesty-observer-app). This page will contain the video embedded from YouTube. Below the video will be user response to five evaluation questions. Lastly, there will be room for users to provide comments. 5. Challenge Directory: Listing all the challenges that people are competing on. Similar to https://www.kickstarter.com/discover/categories/film%20&%20video - here users should be able to filter by Category, Popularity, Newest, End Date, Fully Funded, To be Funded.
Here are three simple wireframes: http://2leynk.axshare.com/ The first two correspond to pages 1 and 2 above (ignore the 3rd on for now, it will come later as an additional assignment--we need to create many more pages later). We would like you to unleash your creativity, especially when you design the home page and don't feel that you need to follow the wireframe in any way.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Web page design starts at ¥64,499.
