The title of the book is „Bärentöter“ (Bearslayer) Name of author: I. J. Stamm It‘s the first book of a series. Back blurb (rough english translation below) Einst zogen die semonischen Stämme auf die Halbinsel der Bunmuolui. Sie unterwarfen die Ureinwohner und gründeten das Gottsrych. Neunhundert Jahre nach ihrer Einwanderung herrschen harte Zeiten: Das feindliche Nomadenvolk im Osten rüstet zum Krieg, Viehseuchen und Missernten plagen das Land, und der Hexenkult erstarkt. Von all dem noch unberührt, brechen zwei junge Menschen aus ihren engen Verhältnissen aus. Lucas ap Brenhyr, Fürstensohn us Otta, tritt gegen den Willen seines Vaters der Drachenjägergilde bei, und Svenna entflieht ihrem Reservat, um sich in den Bergen den Weigerlingen anzuschliessen. English translation: Once the <semonischen> tribes immigrated to the peninsula inhabited by the <Bunmuolui>. They conquered the natives and founded the God‘s Realm. Ninehundred years after their immigration times are difficult: the hostile nomadic people in the east prepare for war, cattle plagues and bad harvests afflict the land and the witch-cult gains strength. Unaffected by all this two young people escape their preset lives. Lucas ap Brenhyr, a noble‘s son from the tribe Otta, joins the dragonhunter‘s guild against his father‘s will. Svenna escapes from the reservation and joins the <Weigerlinge> (the refusers) in the mountains. Lucas and Svenna will meet and a new era in the history of the God‘s Realm will take its course. Cover: The Cover should show a bear. I don‘t have a specific idea, but I‘d rather not have a realistic bear, more one that resembles a symbol or blazenry. But I‘m open for any suggestions! In addition, it would be excellent, if there is an indication that the bear is a religious/sacred animal in the novel. See the following background for more information. Background: The tribes believe in two gods. Busca is the evil one. He‘s the devil, the snake. Witches worship him. Snakes, dragons and crows are said to be his creatures. He is usually not called a god, though according to script he has been there at the beginning, with Wulc. Wulc is the good god. He sometimes appears as a bear. The bear is a sacred animal. It‘s forbidden to kill a bear without the priests‘ permission. The priests, called God‘s people (Gottsleut), wear bear skins (coat and hood). They keep bears in bear pits and at New Year foreign prisoners are thrown into the pits and killed by the bears. Wulc also tore out one of his eyes. This God‘s Eye (Gottsaug) is a religious symbol. It is worn as jewelry, bigger God‘s Eyes adorne temples & altars. As a symbol I imagine it rounder than a real eye, the eyelashes thicker, more pronounced. Quite early on in the novel a bear is killed in a reservation by natives. They keep this incident secret for fear of the tribes‘ retribution. Later on, one of the main characters, Lucas, who is a member of the tribes, also kills a bear. The sacrilege is made worse by the fact that this particular bear has only one eye and is therefor seen as Wulc‘s messenger. After this event Lucas will get the epithet „baerslayer“. Please note, while Lucas is one of the main characters in the novel, I would not want him or any other person included on the cover design.

The book will be published in German as Kindle-ebook. I‘m also planning to publish it with CreateSpace and would also need a spine and rear cover design (including above blurb in German on the rear). Let me know, if you need any further information!
