What's your vision?

Je souhaite le design d'une couverture de livre. Le synopsis est en pièce jointe. Bien que le sujet soit relativement noir, le livre dépeint le contraste entre notre société européenne et les pays en voie de developement. Entre Europe occidentale et Afrique noire, ce roman contemporain s’adresse à un public amateur de documentaire-fiction. Aventure, humour, émotions et violence sont les principaux ingrédients utilisés. Le style est rythmé et orienté vers l’action. Je n'ai aucune experience en matière de design de couverture de livre donc je suis ouvert à toute proposition.

Le format du livre est A5 et le nombre de page est 210. Si le designer ne peut pas en deduire la taille de la tranche, il faut que celui ci puissent être ajusté au cas où.

The White Soldier
The story is of a boy whose father is physically abusive so at the age of 11, he runs away and is adopted by a fictitious Indigenous tribe. When he is 14 he refuses to go through with his arranged marriage and is sent back out into the white world. He ends up in a new city where he meets an 18 year old prostitute who shows him how to make money by being a prostitute. Now his life sucks but despite him dabbling in drugs and alcohol, he never gives up. The author wanted the vibe to be of a person who is a child abuse 'survivor' and not a 'victim'.

You know the saying: don’t judge a book by its cover. But we all do it, just like we judge movies and games and albums and magazines by their covers. A book’s cover design tells the reader what to expect from the book in more ways than showing what the book’s about. A well-designed cover communicates to the reader that the author and publisher care enough about the book that they invested in a beautiful and inspiring cover. It also acts as a signal for the book’s intended audience, getting the book into those readers’ hands. A book’s cover is what makes it stand out on the shelf or among the search results on an e-reader’s screen.
