El libro presenta una base teorica de por que a traves de este control es posible alcanzar mejores niveles de bienestar personales y, de esta forma, liderar y movilizar los colaboradores de un equipo. Se presenta en el libro un "gimnasio mental" que describe 7 "maquinas" sobre las cuales el autor recomienda poner enfasis e incluye ejericios para practicar el aprendizaje. Es un libro motivacional y practivo a la vez, escrito para lograr que las persones alcancen nuevos niveles de felicidad y bienestar.
