We're a network of student associations that raise awareness of animal rights issues and promote veganism. We're not talking about cats and dogs, but rather farmed animals, fish and shellfish. The association defends animals as sentient individuals (capable of subjectively experiencing positive or negative emotions) and not as cogs in ecosystems, so it differs from a classic ecologist line (we'd like to avoid a green color code that would tie us to ecology).

Propose different dominant colors: - use the historic turquoise (cf. reseau-sentience.net) or some blue (but in this case, please don’t use only aquatic animals, put at least a chicken or a pig - we don’t want our organization to be perceived as exclusively focused on aquatic animals even if they are a priority) - test reds - don’t use reds and blues simultaneously - we like the use of gradients, so don't hesitate to try red or blue gradients. For red gradients, put more red than orange (orange should not be the dominant color). For blue gradients, avoid green as a dominant color. - The logo you propose for the competition (in color) must be adaptable to a black and white version at a later date. - it's also imperative that the logo be adaptable in at least one version that runs on a light background and one that runs on a dark background - it should also be able to be used as a favicon

Never use domestic animals (particularly cats and dogs) since we really want to focus on animals exploited for food consumption. If it works well (and if aesthetically pleasing), you can try something with liminal animals (rats, pigeons, etc.) – Do not draw the animals in such a way that the shape is beautiful for the logo but as representative as possible of their real schematized appearance, do not represent them in too abstract a way, also we generally prefer when the eyes appear. – We want to value animals as individuals, so we don't want too many animals in the logo, maximum about 3. In particular, avoid groups of fishes. – We advise you not to try to form the S of Sentience with an animal, all the proposals we received in this spirit did not seem pretty to us. – We have a slight preference for round logos, with the name “Sentience” included inside the logo (instead of writing it next to the logo). – We prefer an elaborate, sophisticated logo to a simple, minimalist one. – In general, we prefer light logos with fine lines. Please do not include vegetation or other shapes whose only purpose is to make the logo look heavier. However, we do prefer an elaborate, sophisticated logo to a simple, minimalist one. – If you have any ideas for highlighting the association's militant dimension (with claims) that work well graphically, please don't hesitate to let us know. Avoid using a raised fist symbol, which is a little too confrontational, or megaphone, which we don't think generally blend well into the logo. Technical aspects: - To be created in vector format (SVG), especially for textile printing, then in raster format (PNG). - Colorimetric mode: CMYK (the logo will be printed very often) - At a later date, the logo will have to be declined in different formats: — square (the format most often used) — round (for the Google avatar, for example) — horizontal (Google Workspace requires 320 x 132 pixels; respect this ratio but provide an HD version, e.g. 1040 x 429 px) — it should also be able to be used as a favicon
