The header "Picking mushrooms in winter" opens a 4-segment header series: Gradually the annual cycles "picking mushrooms in spring", "picking mushrooms in summer" and "picking mushrooms in autumn" will follow. The subtly integrated lettering www.passion-pilze-sammeln.com. 1.MUSHROOM PICKER Very significant! He should be like a LOGO. Explicitly no requirement for his position! I imagine him with an original and eccentric hat, a beard and a wicker basket in which picked mushrooms can be seen. The photos "hat1" and "hat2" show a distinctive mushroom pickers hat. The photo "wicker_ basket" shows a representative natural wicker-basket. The mushroom picker must have a high degree of recognition, for he is to appear significantly in the spring, summer and autumn illustrations again. 2. THREE MUSHROOM SPECIES AND THEIR SYMBIOTIC TREES The mushrooms to be shown are best edible mushrooms. These are a) Oyster fungus, b) Velvet foot and c) Jelly Ear. To all 3 types are photographs in the attachement. a) Oyster fungus mainly use to grow on very old beech trunks. They can climb up almost the entire trunk, see photo "oysters8". They also grow well, sometimes hundreds, on lying, fallen tree trunks, see photo "oysters9". b) Velvet feet grow on beeches, poplars, elder bushes and willow trees, also on lying stumps and trunks. Very decorative are special willows named "Kopfweide", which you find on photographs "willow1" and "willow2". Note: The honey-colored golden yellow of Velvet feet In the sunlight of a winter day seems to be a "little winter sun". An impression you'll find at photos "velvet3" and "velvet4"). c) Jelly Ears mainly grow on elder bushes. Tip: Frozen Jelly Ears against the light (backlit) seem to glow downright (see photos "jelly1, 2 and 5). Note1: To show the mushrooms clearly, they possibly could be in an enlarged circle as under a magnifying glass. Just an idea, no must-be. Note2: To display the recognizable mushrooms, it is recommended not to show them in the deep snow, but "sugared" as you can see in the picture "oysters1". 3. THE LANDSCAPE It's up to you whether to create an enclosed landscape or to reproduce it in symbols or to choose a mixture of both. I could imagine to divide the country in 2/3 with a creek lined by willows and elder group and 1/3 edge of the woods with beeches. Additional decorative elements could include: - A snowy woodpile as you find on the photographs "woodpile1, 2 and 3". It is also conceivable that the mushroom gatherer has left his basket filled with mushrooms on a snowy woodpile. - To get a minimum of colour it's imaginable to show some ranking ivy which is dark green also in winter.
